Health & Safety and Facilities Lead
Rebecca qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2006, having previously worked in a Specialist referral practice as their Surgical Team Leader. During this time, she achieved her HE Diploma in Clinical Veterinary Nursing in conjunction with the RCVS Advanced Diploma. Rebecca specialised her studies in Anaesthesia, Surgical nursing and Theatre practice.
In September 2015 Rebecca made the transition away from nursing into a new challenge as Operations Co-ordinator at Calder Vets. This was a broad role and included monitoring and analysing the current systems of provision to check they were effective, and working out a strategy for improving them if required. Liaising with other team members, and branch surgeries to ensure continuity of patient and staff care.
Rebecca then became heavily involved in the build and the procurement of equipment for Paragon Veterinary Referrals and in February 2018 she became the Operations Co-ordinator for Paragon Veterinary Referrals and has now progressed into the Health & Safety and Facilities Lead. With overall responsibility of the provision of all aspects of Health & Safety, property management, building maintenance, security and equipment maintenance to ensure delivery of a safe and efficient service to our clients/customers and associates.
Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement with excellent experience with the RCVS Practice Standards scheme and awards.
Amiee started working at Paragon Referrals in July 2019 and immediately felt welcomed into the hospital.
She previously worked in a veterinary practice for 10 years as a receptionist and trainee veterinary nurse. She then moved to a different veterinary practice where she worked for 8 years, the first 6 as a receptionist and the final 2 as the insurance administrator.
Amiee loves fussing over the animals when they come into the practice and she tries to make the clients time with us as stress free as possible.
In her spare time she likes to go for long walks with her dog, she enjoys jogging and working out. Amiee also loves watching movies and enjoys a good box set.
I have worked at Paragon since the opening and previous to this worked for Paragon’s sister practice Calder for over 15 years.
Throughout my career I have worked within the hydrotherapy team and then moved on to a team leader role. I am as a mental health first aider within Paragon and my current role involves organising the day and making sure we offer the best patient care by working alongside the other team leaders within the practice.
Out of work I enjoy running and last year competed for Great Britain in the European championships in duathathon. When I’m not running competitively, I’m usually keeping fit by keeping my mischievous kitten Sidney and Jimmy out of trouble.
