Lizzy Conway

RCVS Specialist in Small Animal Medicine (Internal Medicine)
Lizzy is a European and RCVS specialist in Small Animal Internal Medicine, and joined Paragon at the start of 2022. She qualified from the University of Cambridge in 2012 and spent 18 months in general practice in Norfolk, before completing a rotating internship at fellow Linnaeus practice Dick White Referrals.
She returned to work as an internal medic at a primary care practice in Gloucestershire, before starting her residency in internal medicine at the University of Glasgow in 2016. She was awarded her European diploma in small animal internal medicine in 2021.
Lizzy has a particular interest in haematological and immune mediated disorders, and completed a masters in veterinary medicine while at Glasgow, which looked at biomarkers in dogs with conditions predisposing to thrombosis. She also enjoys endoscopy and interventional radiography procedures such as tracheal and urethral stenting.
Outside of work she enjoys hillwalking and exploring the Yorkshire countryside.
Ben Safrany

RCVS Specialist in Small Animal Medicine (Internal Medicine)
Ben graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2010. After spending two years in mixed practice, he moved to a busy small animal hospital in Nottinghamshire where he gained a certificate in small animal medicine. He joined Paragon in 2018 and completed a 3-year ECVIM residency in 2023, subsequently obtaining his European Diploma in Internal medicine (companion animals) in 2024.
He is particularly interested in endocrinology.
Outside of work Ben enjoys climbing, running and dog walks.
Eirini Chrysovergi
DVM DVMS GPCertSAM DipECVIM-CA
Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Companion Animals)
Eirini graduated from the University of Thessaly in Greece and worked there for two years before deciding to pursue specialization. She completed a certificate in internal medicine and moved to the West Midlands to work in first opinion practice.
Following that, she undertook both a rotating and specialty internship at the University of Glasgow, and completed her residency in internal medicine at University College Dublin, alongside a doctorate (DVMS) focused on biomarkers of sepsis in dogs.
In her free time, she enjoys reading and exploring art and nature.
Jane Scott
BVSc CertSAM MRCVS
RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Internal Medicine
Jane graduated from the University of Bristol in 2005 with distinction. Following a two year period in a small animal practice in West Yorkshire Jane completed a 12 month rotating internship at the University of Liverpool, where she developed her interest in internal medicine. In 2009 Jane returned to West Yorkshire and joined the team at Calder Vets, completing her Certificate in Small Animal Medicine the following year. Jane has been seeing referral cases since then and is interested in all aspects of internal medicine.
Outside of work Jane enjoys walking, climbing and travelling. She is also a keen baker much to the delight of the rest of the team!
Sophie Aspinall
MA VetMB MRCVS
ECVIM Resident in Internal Medicine
Sophie graduated from Cambridge Vet School in 2017 and spent two years in first opinion practice before undertaking a rotating internship at Davies Vet Specialists.
In 2021 she moved back home to Yorkshire and joined Paragon for an internal medicine internship and subsequently a residency, which she completed in 2025.
Sophie enjoys all aspects of internal medicine but has a particular interest in feline medicine.
Lydia Bloomfield
ECVIM Resident in Internal Medicine
Lydia qualified from the University of Cambridge in 2019. She returned to Yorkshire to work in general practice for just over 3 years before joining Paragon in 2023 as a rotating intern.
She has worked with multiple departments in the hospital during this time, but quickly realised her keen interest in internal medicine. Lydia remained at Paragon for another year, completing an internal medicine internship and working with the medicine and oncology teams. She is delighted to be staying with the Paragon team for her residency.
Lydia has a passion for feline medicine and is excited to expand her knowledge and skillset in this area.
