Neurology
Our dedicated veterinary neurology service is run by Specialist Massimo Mariscoli and offers treatment for conditions affecting the brain, nervous system, spinal cord and muscles.
As part of a multi-disciplinary centre, patients benefit from the input of team members from other disciplines including anaesthesia, diagnostic imaging, oncology and medicine.
Your initial consultation will usually last from 20 to 60 minutes, where we will take a thorough history and examine your pet. We will always discuss potential costs, outcomes and possible risks.
Your pet will usually need to stay with us for investigation and treatment after the consultation. We have extensive hospitalisation facilities to care for your pet if they do need to stay with us.
We offer treatment for a wide variety of conditions including:
- Muscle diseases
- Loss of limb function
- Neck pain, back pain or trapped nerves
- Seizures
- Balance problems
- Feline hyperaesthesia syndrome
- Oro-facial pain syndrome
- Neurological disorders in dogs and cats
Cutting-edge technology
We’re the only practice in Yorkshire to have a £20,000 state-of-the-art surgical microscope to treat neurology and neurosurgery pet referrals.
The Zeiss OPMI CS NC-2 neurosurgical microscope delivers better results and recoveries for pets by offering improved magnification, good illumination and extra stability.
As one of the only sites in the UK with this cutting-edge technology, we are better able to deal with complex neurological disorders in dogs and cats, such as spinal and brain surgeries.
