Pet Insurance
How Pet Insurance works
Insured clients
Once your pet is registered with us, a member of our client care team will contact you. At this point if your pet is insured and you would prefer us to settle the costs of treatment directly with your insurance company, please request this on your initial call or with a minimum of 48 hours’ notice prior to your appointment to enable us to perform the necessary checks.
In order to do this, you will need to give your insurer verbal authority for Paragon Referrals to discuss your policy details.
If we have agreed to a direct claim, please be aware that you are responsible for all costs until the point of claim settlement. Upon settlement of your claim, you will be required to pay in full any deductions made by your insurer.
An administration fee is chargeable per condition per year, for our full insurance service, from the moment the referral process is started, until your pet is discharged and account finalised.
Some insurance companies require pre-authorisation prior to treatment. Please make sure you read your policy information fully before attending an appointment.
If a claim direct is declined, please see the non-insured section below.
Non-insured clients
Once your pet is registered with us, a member of our client care team will contact you. If you are not insured a deposit may be required upon admit, however we will keep you informed every step of the way, including full communications whilst your pet is in hospital with us.
*Please note Paragon Referrals is not a licensed credit broker, therefore we can not offer payment plans.
