Paragon ophthalmology service focused on bright future

The Specialist-led ophthalmology team here at Paragon Veterinary Referrals is growing and expanding the services we offer.

As a training centre for two Residents of the European College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (ECVO), we are committed to education.

We are currently training final-year students from Harper Keele University and the University of Surrey, whilst delivering Continuing Professional Development (CPD) sessions for both newly-graduated and experienced veterinary surgeons.

Our outstanding ophthalmology team offers advanced medical and surgical treatment for a wide range of ophthalmic conditions, including routine and complex eyelid treatment, along with routine and complex cataract and glaucoma procedures.

We also provide eye health testing in accordance with the Kennel Club and British Veterinary Association (KC/BVA) scheme, supporting breeders to produce healthy generations of dogs.

As well as treating companion animals, we are proud to offer specialist ophthalmology consultancy services to two large equine hospitals – Hird and Partners in Halifax and Rainbow Equine Hospital in Malton.

In addition, our team supports veterinary staff at Flamingo Land and Askham Bryan College, providing expert advice on complex and challenging cases.

As part of a state-of-the-art multidisciplinary referral hospital, our ophthalmology team works closely with other specialties to ensure our patients receive the very best care.
